In-depth review: Midnight Harvest review: how far up the field?
The short version
Midnight Harvest is a pick-and-climb tower game from Nocturn Play, in the same family as the mines and tower games found on many casino sites. The field has 8 rows of 4 pumpkins. In each row you pick one: a golden pumpkin lets you climb, a raven costs you the harvest. Each cleared row offers a choice: bank its multiplier, or press on. Clear the eighth row and you pick the Harvest Moon, worth up to 2,500× the bet.
The field and its keeper
The scene is a pumpkin patch at the foot of a hill, with a wrought-iron gate lit by lanterns, a twisted tree, a dark manor on the ridge and a big white moon overhead. The Lantern Keeper watches over it all: a pumpkin-headed scarecrow in a battered witch's hat and patched purple dungarees, leaning on a crooked staff with his lantern held high. Ravens circle above the field, waiting for a wrong pick.
Choose your night
Before each round you pick a stake and a night, and the night decides how many ravens hide in every row.
Calm: 1 raven per row. Most picks are safe, so the multipliers climb gently.
Mist: 2 ravens per row. Half of each row is dangerous, and the ladder grows much faster.
Moonless: 3 ravens per row. Only one pumpkin in four is golden, and the top of the ladder reaches 2,500× the bet.
Climbing row by row

Press Play and the bottom row lights up. Tap a pumpkin, or let the Random button choose for you. Gold takes you up a row, and the tag beside that row shows what your harvest is now worth. From then on the Cash out button is live. Each new row you clear raises the multiplier; a raven at any point loses the harvest in progress.
The lantern pumpkin

Some rows hide a lantern pumpkin. If you uncover a raven in a row that has one, the Keeper swings his lantern, chases the bird off and you climb anyway. Picking the lantern itself counts as gold. You can't tell in advance which rows have a lantern, so it arrives as a welcome rescue.
The Harvest Moon
Get past the eighth row and the climb ends at the top of the field with the Harvest Moon, which pays the night's highest multiplier automatically: 2,500× the bet on a Moonless night.
A field fixed at the bet

The whole field, ravens and lanterns, is drawn on the server when you place your bet. Your picks only uncover what is already there, and at the end of the round every pumpkin is turned over so you can see the full layout. Autoplay can cash out for you after a chosen row and stop on a big win. For another game where each step is a choice to stop or carry on, try High Society, or see the whole Nocturn Play catalogue.

What is the maximum win?
2,500× the bet, paid by the Harvest Moon at the top of the field on a Moonless night.
What does the lantern pumpkin do?
In a row that hides a lantern, a raven you uncover is chased away and you climb anyway. The lantern itself counts as a golden pumpkin.
