In-depth review: Lumen Drift: a player's guide to the half cash-out
The idea in one paragraph
Lumen Drift is a crash game from Nocturn Play set deep under the sea. A large manta ray covered in bioluminescent dots drifts upward through a cave lit by broken moonlight, and the multiplier climbs from 1.00× while it swims. Cash out before the manta dives back into the abyss and your bet is paid at the current multiplier. The ceiling is high: a single round can reach 10,000× the stake.
Bubbles and the half cash-out
The feature that sets Lumen Drift apart is sitting in the top corner of the screen. Bubbles is a small manta with a miner's lamp on its head and a yellow scarf, and it is more than decoration. Once per round, while the big manta is rising, you can tap Bubbles: every bet you have in play cashes out half of its stake at the multiplier showing at that moment, and the other half keeps riding.

Here is how that plays out. You bet 4. At 2.10× you tap Bubbles and 4.20 lands in your balance straight away, since half of the stake (2) is paid at 2.10×. The other 2 stays in. If you then cash out at 5.00×, it adds 10. If the manta dives at 3.40× before you press, you keep the 4.20 you already banked. It takes the sting out of a round that turns against you without giving up the whole upside.
Two bets, auto play and a quick key
There are two bet panels, each with its own stake, an Auto Bet box and an Auto Out box with a target multiplier. One panel can collect automatically at a low target while the other is in your hands. On a keyboard, the space bar cashes out, which is handy when the multiplier starts moving fast. Between rounds a short countdown shows "Starting in" and the number of seconds left.

Fair by design
The point where the manta dives is fixed before each round starts. The game shows the SHA-256 fingerprint of the server seed in advance, reveals the seed after the crash, and lets you check it against your client seed and the round number in the Fairness panel. If a round ever reaches the 10,000× cap, any bet still in play is paid at the cap.
How it compares
Most crash titles, from Spribe's Aviator to the many rocket and jet variants, offer cash-out and auto cash-out and stop there. Lumen Drift adds a third choice between "take it" and "let it ride", and puts it on a character you can tap. If you would rather fly than swim, Altitude Zero has Gaston the duck pilot and his propeller plane.

Lumen Drift runs in any modern browser on phones, tablets and desktops, and free play is open on nocturnplay.com. Browse every title in the Nocturn Play games list.
Frequently asked questions
What does Bubbles do in Lumen Drift?
Tap him once during a round and each of your active bets cashes out half of its stake at the current multiplier. The other half stays in until you cash out or the manta dives.
What is the maximum multiplier?
10,000× the stake. A round that reaches it pays every bet still in play at that cap.
Can I use auto cash-out?
Yes. Tick Auto Out on a panel and set a target; the bet collects as soon as the multiplier reaches it. Auto Bet repeats the stake every round.
How do I know the crash point was not changed?
Its server seed hash is shown before the round and the seed is revealed after. The Fairness panel recalculates the crash from the seeds and the round number so you can compare.
