If you have played a "book" slot before, you already know how this one works. That was the point. Obsidian Pharaoh, released on 3 October 2026, keeps the rules players like and gives you more control over the stake.

You set the lines and the bet per line

Five reels, three rows, and you choose how many lines are active, from 1 to 20, then the bet on each line. Most book games fix the line count; here a cautious player can run five lines and a bold one all twenty. Wins pay left to right on active lines. Autoplay and a fast mode are there for long sessions.

The paytable is pure temple: Anubis, the pharaoh mask, the scarab, the Eye of Horus, the ankh and a gold collar, with the royals underneath.

Two jobs, two symbols

The obsidian pyramid is the wild: it stands in for every symbol except the sacred book. The sacred book is the scatter. Three or more anywhere on the reels pay on their own and open 10 free spins.

The sacred symbol

Obsidian Pharaoh free spin 1 of 10 with Anubis expanded on reel 1 as the sacred symbol

Before the first free spin, one symbol is drawn to be the sacred symbol for the whole bonus. During the spins, whenever it lands on three or more reels, it expands to cover each of those reels completely and pays on every active line, even if the copies are not next to each other. Draw Anubis and the bonus can turn very loud very fast; draw a royal and it pays more often but smaller.

More books during the bonus give 10 more spins each time, up to 60 free spins in total. There is no bonus buy: the books have to land. The top prize is 5,000× the total bet.

Obsidian Pharaoh vs Book of Dead

The comparison everybody will make is with Play'n GO's Book of Dead: 5×3, 10 lines, 10 free spins with an expanding symbol, and the same 5,000× ceiling. Ours adds a line choice from 1 to 20 and retriggers up to 60 spins. Book of Dead has the history and the name. The full comparison lists the differences point by point.

Like the slow build of a bonus but want it to climb on every spin? Gold Rush Outlaws raises its free spins multiplier by one each time, up to ×10. Casinos on SoftAggregator have had Obsidian Pharaoh in the lobby since launch day, with the same 8% of GGR as the rest of our games.

Frequently asked questions

How does the expanding symbol work in Obsidian Pharaoh?

A sacred symbol is drawn before the free spins. If it lands on 3 or more reels during the bonus, it expands over those reels and pays on every active line, wherever it sits.

How many free spins can you get in Obsidian Pharaoh?

3 or more sacred books give 10 free spins. Each new set of books during the bonus adds 10 more, up to 60.

Can you buy the bonus in Obsidian Pharaoh?

No. The free spins only start when 3 or more sacred books land.

Is Obsidian Pharaoh like Book of Dead?

It uses the same book mechanic and the same 5,000× max win. The differences: 1 to 20 selectable lines instead of 10, and retriggers up to 60 free spins.
