A diver in a copper suit, a harpoon, sunken ruins and a giant anglerfish lighting the dark. This is a fishing slot, but nobody here is sitting on a riverbank.

The short version

Golden Abysses is a fishing slot with Hold & Win, released by Nocturn Play on 3 October 2026. It has 5 reels, 4 rows and 1,024 ways to win, a diver wild who collects fish values, a pearl bonus with four jackpots, a 71× bonus buy and a top prize of 5,000× the bet.

Golden fish and the diver

Golden Abysses base game with golden fish values, the diver symbol and the four jackpots

Golden fish land with a cash value printed on them. On their own they just swim. The diver is what brings them in: she is the wild on reels 2 to 5, and when she lands she fires her harpoon and collects the value of every golden fish on screen. Two divers means the catch is counted twice, three divers three times. In between, she still does the usual wild work on the 1,024 ways.

The regular symbols go from a treasure chest, a golden trident, a shark and a giant octopus down to a golden anchor, the anglerfish, a seahorse and a jellyfish.

Black pearls: Hold & Win

Golden Abysses Hold and Win with black pearls locked and a completed row paying the Mini jackpot

Three or more black pearls start Hold & Win. Pearls and fish stick in place with their values, and you get 3 respins; every new item that lands sticks too and puts the counter back to 3. The diver keeps working inside the bonus: when she appears she doubles the fish and treasures around her.

The jackpots are paid by rows. The first row you complete wins the Mini, the next the Minor, then the Major, and a full grid wins the Grand. There's a shortcut: catching the golden giant fish also gives the Grand. You can start the bonus directly for 71× the bet, which drops you into Hold & Win with 3 black pearls already on the reels.

How it stacks up against Big Bass Bonanza

Pragmatic Play's Big Bass Bonanza is the fishing slot most players know: 5×3, 10 lines, a fisherman wild who collects fish money symbols in free spins, max 2,100×. Golden Abysses lets the diver collect in the base game as well, plays on 1,024 ways and has a 5,000× ceiling. Big Bass is simpler to follow and has a huge following. Details on our comparison page.

Like coins that lock and pay by row? Viking Raid was built on the same idea, with runes instead of fish. Casino operators don't need to request Golden Abysses: it was switched on for all SoftAggregator accounts the day it launched.

Frequently asked questions

How does the diver collect fish in Golden Abysses?

The diver is wild on reels 2 to 5. When she lands, she harpoons every golden fish on screen and pays their values. With 2 or more divers, the catch is counted that many times.

How do you trigger Hold & Win in Golden Abysses?

Land 3 or more black pearls. They lock with any fish, and each new item resets the 3 respins. You can also buy it for 71× the bet.

How do the jackpots work?

Each completed row in Hold & Win wins a jackpot, bigger each time: Mini, Minor, Major, then Grand for the full grid. Catching the golden giant fish also awards the Grand.

Is Golden Abysses like Big Bass Bonanza?

Both are fishing slots where a wild collects fish values. Golden Abysses uses 1,024 ways, collects in the base game too, adds a Hold & Win with jackpots and goes up to 5,000×, against 2,100× for Big Bass Bonanza.
