Reels that change shape
Savanna Stampede Megaways is a ways slot from Nocturn Play with six reels whose height changes on every spin. Each reel shows between two and seven symbols: on reels 2 to 5, part of that comes from a horizontal top reel sitting above them. Because the reel heights change, so does the number of ways to win, up to 117,649. A symbol pays when it lands on adjacent reels starting from the left, and the ways are the product of the matching symbols on each reel. The biggest round pays 10,000× the bet.
Cascades
After a win, the winning symbols burst, the symbols above drop into their place and new ones fall in from the top. The top reel slides left and refills from the right. One spin can cascade many times while new wins keep appearing.
The watering hole
Water drops land only on the top reel, and each one fills a step of the watering-hole gauge, which has five steps and is kept from one spin to the next. Once it is full, the herd comes down to drink: every symbol of one animal on the board, lions, rhinos, elephants, giraffes or zebras, turns wild for that spin. A board full of zebras becoming wild at once is the moment this game is built around. The gauge then empties and starts filling again.
The regular wild appears on reels 2 to 5 and on the top reel, and stands in for everything except the baobab and the water drop.
