What a casino game aggregator does
A casino game aggregator is a company that connects many game studios to many online casinos through a single technical integration. The casino plugs in once and gets thousands of games; the studio plugs in once and reaches hundreds of casinos. We are a studio, and this is how it looks from our side.
The problem it solves
Every studio has its own way of launching a game, reporting a round and moving money. If a casino wanted twenty studios directly, it would build twenty integrations, sign twenty contracts and reconcile twenty invoices every month. If a studio like Nocturn Play wanted two hundred casinos directly, we would spend our year on integrations instead of on games.
An aggregator sits in the middle. It speaks every studio's protocol on one side and offers casinos a single API on the other: one way to list games, one way to launch them, one wallet protocol, one report, one invoice.
What actually happens when a player spins
- The casino asks the aggregator for a game URL for a given player, currency and language.
- The aggregator asks the studio's server for a session and returns the URL to the casino.
- The player spins. The studio's server decides the result, then the bet and the win move through the casino's wallet (debit, then credit), usually through what is called a seamless wallet: the player's balance never leaves the casino.
- At the end of the month, the casino pays the aggregator a share of its GGR (gross gaming revenue: bets minus wins) on those games, and the aggregator pays the studios.
How Nocturn Play uses one
Our slots, Casino Heist, Viking Raid, Gold Rush Outlaws and Vénus Nova, are distributed through SoftAggregator. Every SoftAggregator client gets them switched on by default at 8% of GGR, with no setup fee, next to the rest of the catalogue: slots from the big studios, live casino and sports. For a new casino, that is the difference between waiting months for a studio contract and having our games in the lobby the same day.
Larger aggregators and platforms can also connect to us directly and resell our games in their own catalogue; that is what our partner programme is for. They get a back office where they choose which games to carry and the RTP of each one (see what RTP means).
How to choose an aggregator
If you are an operator comparing aggregators, the questions that matter are less glamorous than catalogue size:
- Pricing: is it a share of GGR, a fixed fee, or both? Is there a setup fee? A monthly minimum?
- Currencies: does it support yours, including crypto (BTC, USDT, ETH and the rest) if your players use it?
- Wallet behaviour: what happens when your wallet times out mid-round? A serious provider retries the credit until it lands, so a player's win is never lost.
- Who you talk to when a game breaks at 2 a.m.
SoftAggregator publishes its own comparison of casino aggregators and a list of the best casino game aggregators. Read them with the questions above in mind.
